By the way, for images online it's often easier to post them in a gallery on Imgur and post the link in the forum. You can hide the pictures so they can't be seen without the link and they've got pretty much unlimited resolution (within reason).
Thank you for the update! You mention roll out by corps and mentioned the strats, to clarify does that mean the whole RCAC (the Strats corps) is being rolled out at once or just the Strathconas?
Can't wait to get a closer look. What is the footwear situation?
I think you're so America-brained you simply can't accept there are better options than stuff from the US of A. Not one American I've worked with liked the Humvee. Poor ergonomics, shitty offroad, poor kit storage, poor reliability. The civvie Hummer was shitty off the line, they put an inline 5...
The Hummer has been a piece of shit since day one. The I5 was notoriously underpowered. Heck, there's a reason Hummer is dead and gone beyond the EV posing as a Hummer for 'memberberries and that the GWagon has been a proven mil and offroad vehicle for decades. It's vastly superior offroad...
Seems like a light list of favourites. RIP dreams of Hawkei. I sure as shit hope the Humvee isn't selected. Terrible ergonomics and off-road capability. On a ex with Americans when our LUVW fleet was still viable the Humvees spent most of their time stuck and high centred, they couldn't keep up...
They'll use milspec vehicles like how milverados were used. They're just reducing the non deployable stocks in favour of increasing the deployable stock. It's smart imo considering the LUV is what is intended to be used in A/B echelons and for RAS/TACSEC tasks. The LUV is also the ARes RCAC...
That 40CT is an impressive round. You can lay some serious hate downrange with that bad boy. The built in Anti Aerial round is really cool imo and the penetration of the sabot is nothing to sniff at.
You'll always need mud recce. That hasn't gone away in Ukraine. That said, a designated recce vehicle is a waste of an IFV crew in this day and age. See LRSS which seems to be a lemon at this juncture. A general cavalry vehicle will have a seat or two for dismounts who can be your recce...
Not sure what you expect from Canada? We're a tenth the size of the USA by population and GDP and we have some commitments to our citizens the American government has no qualms in ignoring. I'm sure we're all in agreement we want Canada to reach 2% of GDP but it's a little silly to expect we...
With a new engine, a modern 30mm or bigger and a missile system (which implies a new turret), I think the LAV as an IFV would be sufficient for the Canadian reality. What we're really lacking with the LAV is the ancillary, non logistic stuff. If we want a LAV heavy army, we need a LAV AD. A LAV...
