It's not random. This has been stated by the lawyers on their website that it's by date. They have been doing it by date since January and working their way up for those with only 2 years on LTD or over 65. You can see this by tracking the people who have mentioned they received payment since...
It seems they are going by release date just that those that are getting paid are ones that only did the initial 2 years with SISIP or are over age 65. If your still collecting SISIP you will continue to wait.
If you are still receiving LTD from SISIP and are also getting topped up by VAC once you receive your money from SISIP you need to report your new monthly amount to VAC. VAC will then recalculate your IRB and claw back the amount added to your new monthly amount. Your lump sum amount will not be...
The group I'm apart of on Facebook for the lawsuit has numerous people confirming payouts with PLD being the only allowance they received at release.
MikeStPierre I suggest if you don't already get a copy of your pay records if it shows that you were paid PLD for the month up to your release...
Are you beyond the 2 years with SISIP? Has SISIP decided to keep you on LTD? If so then you can't just quit SISIP because you like VAC better. Your best off getting CPPD because SISIP will make you apply and if you have kids there's a payment for them included. There's also some other benefits...
I honestly ask that people read the final settlement document. In it it even states each benefit that is affected by this lawsuit. Whatever the website says and previous documents say is basically null and void unless it is this document as it is the document that lists the specific benefits to...
You are correct that it says that but if you read the photo I posted it specifically states that disability award was included in the consolidated claim and certification order. It was removed in the final settlement document.
I believe they never bothered to update the website to reflect the...
Ok maybe this will make more sense. Since it's been "amended" those vets that fall under the new amendments like pension for life do not apply to this lawsuit.
At the end of the day you can argue whatever you want but unless you were collecting the benefits shown in the photo you won't be...
It's not just living deceased are included. Pension act dates back to WWII so really if someone was alive till 2004 from that war and was receiving those benefits then they're family would be entitled.
The reason all those benefits aren't listed is because all of the ones listed in the photo fall under the pension act more specifically under section 75 and not pension for life and not the new veterans Charter.
Pension act ended in April 2006 when the new veterans Charter took over. The NVC...
Very confusing I wish a lawyer was able to clear the air and say these benefits are eligible. Also very confusing as to why I have to submit a claim as it says if your recieving benefits from VAC no need.
It literally states on the website "disability pensions" I think the VAC worker gave mixed up/ bad info.
From the website Miscalculation of Disability Pensions Class Action
"
The Federal Court decision approving the settlement of this class proceeding became effective on March 19, 2024.
Later...
