On the subject of medical issues, do the Canadian armed forces exclude people who wear orthodics? I'm asking because I had my medical last week, and they basically wanted to know if I could do the training course without orthodics... which I can't. They asked me to get my podiatrist to fill out...
I'm 40, with two young kids, and am trying to join the infantry reserve as an officer. My age seems to be a serious obstacle... I get the impression the unit doesn't want to invest in training someone like me. Any thoughts?
Sorry to resurrect this old thread, but I'm in that situation. I had to fill out a 330-60E because I've spent a lot of time working outside of Canada. They told me it would take up to 2 years. Does that sound right?
Sorry to jump in on your thread, but I was wondering. I've been told that logistics is a useful trade for humanitarian work in the civlian world. Anyone know anything about this?
Also - does anyone know what the difference is in terms of job responsibilites between an NCM in logistics, and an...
Another question: how hard is it to change your MOC? Like, what if you sign up as an NCM, but you don't like your MOC, is it easy to change or transfer?
How strict is the 5 year residency requirement for joining the res? Although I was born and raised in Canada, and I'm a Canadian citizen, I've spent a good part of my working life overseas, and I only moved back to Canada about two and half years ago. At the recruiting center here in Montreal...
Does anybody know anything about the training you get for the intelligence reserve? I'm in the process of enlisting in the reserve, and I'm interested in intelligence. Does anybody know what they do exactly? What kind of skills they need? What kinds of people they attract? Is it a trade, and is...

I'm thinking of applying to join the intelligence res. Does anybody know concretely what kind of training is involved, and what specifically they do? And what kinds of people intelligence attracts?
Well, I'm older - I'm in my late 30s, and I worry that I won't get along with my fellow NCMs because they'll be so much younger.
But basically, I don't know - I don't have a clear idea of what it's like to be an officer vs an NCM. I get the impression that being an officer, you might have more...
I already have my degree, and no plans to go back to university. How hard would it be to become an officer once you've joined as an NCM? What does it involve, how long does it take?
Does anybody know anything about the intelligence reserve? I'm in the process of enlisting in the reserve, and I'm interested in intelligence. Does anybody know what they do exactly? What kind of skills they need? What kinds of people they attract? I've been told that I can't enlist directly...
